The Coastal Housing Partnership (CHP) was founded in 1987 by a group of local employers for the purpose of making homeownership on Santa Barbara County’s South Coast more affordable. These South Coast employers found it difficult to recruit and retain talented and experienced employees due to the cost of housing in our community. CHP, a non-profit organization, is the result of efforts by these employers to create solutions to the challenges facing local employees in purchasing a home in the area. Since 1987, the number of local employers joining CHP has steadily increased.
